Leon Martin, his wife Ruth, and their three daughters moved to Ohio from Ontario, Canada in 2013. Ruth had been used to a pulley clothesline in Canada, where they are common. But, their house in Ohio did not have one. Thus began the search. Much to their dismay, the Martins could not find an adequate product to meet their needs. They began to think that maybe there would be a market for a clothesline system in Ohio.

Leon, being the designer that he is, built a prototype. They used it in their basement where they worked out the kinks and improved the product. Therefore Skyline Enterprises came into existence. Several of the “must have” and safety features are unique to only their clothesline system.

Skyline Enterprises is a family owned and operated business. Different companies manufacture the individual parts but everything is assembled right in their own facility. Their clothesline system was designed so it could be bolted together and could involve everyone in the family with assembly. Leon’s passion for their product was evident when he stated, “We definitely want to provide a product that will last for years. We feel our features are important.” Leon and Ruth’s daughters also help in the business. They do everything from assembling the product to taping boxes to be shipped. Even the company logo was designed by their oldest daughter.
